Sledding

The last day of the kids' winter break we took them out sledding. We found a great spot with a big hill and had lots of fun before heading home to warm up with some hot chocolate!

This one is of Terance and Braden. Braden is in the front you just can't see him too well through all the snow they are kicking up! You can't help but have fun when you're out playing in the snow with your kids.

Christmas Day!!

Christmas morning Colleen had a hard time being patient for everyone else to wake up. She came in at about seven and said that she just couldn't stand it anymore. So we all got up and enjoyed opening presents.

Braden got an army costume from Santa, which is the only thing he asked him for.

Colleen got her much anticipated Razor Spark scooter from Santa.

Braden also got a Nintendo DS and a really cool Transformers protective case for it.

Colleen got littlest pet shop pets and an MP3 player that she just absolutely loves!

Even Mocha had fun opening his presents!

He sure does love that little penguin.

We had a wonderful Christmas!! I hope all of you did too!

Christmas Program

Braden had his very first Christmas program.

Thanksgiving Feast With Pilgrims and Indians

This year the kids each had a Thanksgiving feast for their grade level. It is always so cute to see all the little pilgrims and Indians running around.

Braden choose to be an Indian for the feast.

They had a lot of good food and fun with their friends!

The kids were telling each other what they were thankful for. Braden is listening to his friend Landon.

Colleen also chose to be an Indian.

Sitting with her pilgrim friends, Colleen had quite a feast after sharing with each other what they are thankful for.

I am so thankful for my beautiful children and my wonderful family and friends!

Halloween Spooktacular at the Zoo

This year for halloween Colleen is a doctor and Braden is a warewolf.

This weekend we went to the Zoo during their Halloween Spooktacular. The kids got to go through the zoo at night and collect candy at different stations all throughout.

How cute are my little Doctor and Warewolf!! This year's featured theme was "Where the Wild Things Are".

First Day of School

Today was the first day of school for the kids! The theme for this year is "going green".

Today was Braden's first day of Kindergarten!

He had fun with his friend Cullen while waiting for school to start.

Braden loves his Kindergarten teacher and couldn't wait for the day to begin.

Today Colleen started Second Grade!

She sat with her friend Carter before school.

She was a bundle of nerves the night before, but thankfully she pulled through and was happy to start her day!

Camping at Table Rock Lake

Grandma and Grandpa came down from Colorado, so we spent the weekend camping, fishing, and boating on Table Rock Lake.

The kids had fun trying to catch fish... keyword "trying"... no one had much luck catching anything.

Both of the kids had fun driving the boat.

A Fun Day At The Park

Today we went with some friends to Jordan Valley Park and the kids had a lot of fun playing in the fountains.

We had a picnic at the park before heading back home.

Last Day of Summer School Celebration

Today the kids at summer school with perfect attendance got to get hosed off by the fire department.

Since the heat index has been over 100 degrees all week, it was welcome relief and lots of fun at the same time!

Colleen and Braden were so happy that their dad was the one that got to soak them.

Spring Break

Our family went to Orange Beach Alabama for Spring Break this year. We had such a great time!!

We all agree that our favorite activity while there was the dolphin cruise!! We've never seen dolphins up close and personal in their natural habitat, so this was just amazing!

The cruise lasted an hour and a half during which two boats took us out into the bay where they then drove side by side to create a large wave between the boats. The dolphins swam along and rode the wave that the boats made.

Back at the beach we had fun hunting for seashells early in the morning.

We also saw some jellyfish that had washed up on shore. They were "Portuguese Man o' War". I'm just glad we didn't encounter any while swimming out in the water!!

We did play out in the water even though the water temperature was still pretty chilly.

Thankfully the condo had an indoor and outdoor pool so we could swim without completely freezing.

We went and did some shopping at the Wharf. We even enjoyed a ride on the ferris wheel!

We tried our hand at catching crab on the beach at night. We cought one tiny little crab. Oh well, at least we tried!

We definately had a great vacation and look forward to going back as soon as possible!

Locks of Love

Today Colleen donated 11 inches of her hair to "Locks of Love"

She was excited to finally be able to donate her hair. She's wanted to do this for quite some time now.

As you can see, she was surprised at first to see just how much hair she donated. We are so proud of her for wanting to help out other kids in need.
